Where are the web site files in my Domain control panel?
Sign in >>> file manager >>> public_html. If you sign in through an ftp client, go straight to public_html folder.

What is a sub-domain?
A configured directory within thegospelwebs where you load and transmit your web site. You don't buy or register a sub-domain you only pay your monthly hosting cost of ksh.100/month for 10 Megabites of data space and unlimited data transfer.

Can I edit my sub-domain?
Yes. Use your username and password to connect with your FTP client to ftp.thegospelwebs.com Get ftp program here.

How do I find if my preferred domain is available?
Go to the first page and type in your preferred domain at the given search box. If your preferred name is taken, choose another ending or another name.

How much does it cost to register a domain?
It costs Ksh. 1000 which automatically covers the first year and due for renewal after 12 months.

Which domain endings do you support?
.com ; .net ; .org ; .us ; .info ; .biz The last three endings have a 2 year minimum registration. Other domain endings are available, contact the webmaster .

How much does it cost to maintain a domain?
It costs ksh. 600 to renew your domain every year.

If I have my domain, can I host it with you without moving it to you?
Yes, you only change the name servers. In this case you will renew your domain by yourself wherever you bought it annually.

Can I buy a domain with you and then host it somewhere else?
Yes, the only difference is that You will buy it for ksh. 1000 and renew it annually for Ksh.1200 every year. The extra cost caters for maintenance costs inthegospelwebs.com for a domain that is not hosted within.

What features are provided along with a domain?

Can I buy a domain and use it only for email?
Yes. Configure your outlook so that it downloads and deletes the emails in your server for only Ksh. 200 per month. We can also connect you to google apps to process your email.
You can even buy a domain and keep it for future use or pack it at a storage fee of only ksh.300 per year.

How do I pay?
Minimum hosting period is six months. Every domain or sub-domain owner pays for the next six months or more and renews for another six month or more at end of paid period.

Option 1. Use the buy now buttons to pay using Master card, Visa, Discover, American express or your Pay pal account.

Option 2. Deposit the appropriate 6 month or more due of your selected plan in any Kenya Comercial Bank (KCB) within eastern Africa. You will be provided with account details on request. Then send the details of your receipt by E-mail to accounts@thegospelwebs.com indicating your name, date, amount deposited, which bank branch and for which username. Feel free to renew your domains and hosting for longer periods as you wish up to 5 years.

What does Data transfer/month mean?
This is the moving of any kind of information from one place to another using any number of technologies in this case it involves data transfer from web servers to a user's browser. Data refers to images, text sound files etc that is requested by your visitors around the world. Generally 500MB which is our lowest plan for a domain will transfer up to 20,000 pages per month while our lowest plan for a sub-domain costing Ksh.25 could transfer up to 3,200 pages per month or more depending on your content.

What is data space?
This is the maximum or limit of your plans storage space in MB allotted to your web site. Data space or sometimes called disk space is used to store your pictures html files or anything else used by your web site. Subscribers can delete or compress files when their limit is reached or upgrade to a higher plan. Tips to domain owners: Emails can easily build up with time and overload your data space.

Tips:
Put larger files outside your index page. Some surfers are not patient enough to wait for a large picture of your church or family to load, especially first page is very crucial. mp3 Sound files are many times lighter than wave files. Video files have very large files that require more space and more bandwidth to transmit.
